Please join us for the 10 th Annual Bump and Run Charity Golf Outing on Friday, May 13 th (yes, Friday the 13 th ) 2011 at Five Ponds Golf Course.  This is a really fun scramble event, with a 1 pm shotgun start.  You get beer and soda all day, some hot dogs at tee off, and great golf.  To celebrate our 10 th anniversary, we are bringing back PGA pro Tom Roskos to put on a wildly entertaining golf show.  He'll do his thing at noon, so don't miss it.  Our nightlife offers what no other golf outing can—the unparalleled Bump and Run Band, a collection of wonderfully talented musicians and singers who come together and donate the time to provide an awesome party.  Dinner guests are welcome, but availability is lmited due to the popularity of the dinner and nighttime activities.

Proceeds benefit the Phebe Fund, supporting local musically-oriented and community minded youths, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, helping to brighten the life of seriously ill kids.  We hold this event to keep alive the spirit of Phebe Blessington, an extremely talented singer and wonderful, giving person.

Why We Do It

Proceeds go directly to the Phebe Blessington Music Memorial Scholarship Fund, benefiting graduates of William Tennent High School who are musically and community minded and who are pursuing further education. Phebe was a dynamic and talented singer. Her musical skills were surpassed only by her endless love and her ability to positively impact everyone around her. Phebe was killed in a senseless car accident in 1997 at the age of 30. Her friends and family started the “Phebe Fund” and other charitable works after her tragic death in her name and in her spirit. The “ Bump and Run ” was started to provide an active and continuing source of income to the Phebe Fund. Phebe had an innate ability to pull great people together for great music and a lot of laughs, all the while making her corner of the world a little better. We strive for this spirit in the “ Bump and Run ”.

The Bump and Run started on the fly, attracting about 40 friends the first year. Our list of great guests (and terrific volunteers) has grown significantly every year. This year we are expecting well over 100 golfers. Each year has been rich with good people and fun prizes. The Happy Hour/Dinner has turned into an event of its own (all non-golfers very welcome), adding a lively auction, and adding live music last year (thanks to Phebe's many talented musician friends). With expected proceeds this year, we will have raised almost $40,000 for the charity so far!!! In fact, the amount of the scholarship has been increased due to the Bump and Run proceeds.
